(Title), This Psalm is supposed by some to have been composed by Moses on the same occasion as the preceding; but others think it was written by David, after his advice to his son Solomon. "And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that ministered to the king by course, and the captains over the thousands, and captains over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance and possession of the king, and of his sons, with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the valiant men, unto Jerusalem. ... And, behold, the courses of the priests and the Levites, [even they shall be with thee] for all the service of the house of God: and [there shall be] with thee for all manner of workmanship every willing skilful man, for any manner of service: also the princes and all the people [will be] wholly at thy commandment." {1Ch 28:1-21}
"For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock." {Psa 27:5} + "Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues." {Psa 31:20} + "Thou [art] my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah." {Psa 32:7} + "But I [am] like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever." {Psa 52:8} + "For thou hast been a shelter for me, [and] a strong tower from the enemy. ... I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah." {Psa 61:3-4} + "[[A Prayer of Moses the man of God.]] Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations." {Psa 90:1} + "And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem." {Isa 8:14} + "Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come." {Ezk 11:16} + "I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. ... His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon." {Hsa 14:5-6} + "Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. ... And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him." {1Jn 4:15-16}

"Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings," {Psa 17:8} + "How excellent [is] thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings." {Psa 36:7} + "[[To the chief Musician, Altaschith, Michtam of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave.]] Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until [these] calamities be overpast." {Psa 57:1} + "And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me king over you, [then] come [and] put your trust in my shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon." {Jdg 9:15} + "As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so [is] my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit [was] sweet to my taste." {Sgs 2:3} + "And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory [shall be] a defence. ...
