Wherefore hast thou:
The complaint and remonstrance of Moses in these verses serve at once to shew the deeply distressed state of his mind, and the degradation of the minds of the people. "And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness." {Num 11:15} + "And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me." {Exd 17:4} + "How can I myself alone bear your cumbrance, and your burden, and your strife?" {Deu 1:12} + "Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth!
