"Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:" {Gen 19:19} + "And the time drew nigh that Israel must die: and he called his son Joseph, and said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me; bury me not, I pray thee, in Egypt:" {Gen 47:29} + "And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spake unto the house of Pharaoh, saying, If now I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying," {Gen 50:4} + "And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. ... To accept a present from an inferior was a customary pledge of friendship; but returning it implied disaffection. It was on this ground that Jacob was so urgent with Esau to receive his present.
I have seen:
"And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved." {Gen 32:30} + "And Judah spake unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother [be] with you." {Gen 43:3} + "And he said, Well; I will make a league with thee: but one thing I require of thee, that is, Thou shalt not see my face, except thou first bring Michal Saul's daughter, when thou comest to see my face." {2Sm 3:13} + "And the king said, Let him turn to his own house, and let him not see my face. So Absalom returned to his own house, and saw not the king's face." {2Sm 14:24} + "So Absalom dwelt two full years in Jerusalem, and saw not the king's face." {2Sm 14:28} + "And Absalom answered Joab, Behold, I sent unto thee, saying, Come hither, that I may send thee to the king, to say, Wherefore am I come from Geshur? [it had been] good for me [to have been] there still: now therefore let me see the king's face; and if there be [any] iniquity in me, let him kill me." {2Sm 14:32} + "He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness." {Job 33:26} + "By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me." {Psa 41:11} + "Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven." {Mtt 18:10} + "And they shall see his face; and his name [shall be] in their foreheads." {Rev 22:4} - Cross Reference Bible Search
